Japanese Animals
Today I'll talk about Japanese animals.
First, I introduce "Yanbrukuina". They only live in Yanbaru in Okinawa. They are birds that can't fly. They are a rare species that is also a Red List endangered IA species. Predation by mammals such as mongoose and extinction by roadkill are in danger.
Second, I introduce "Meguro". They are birds that inhabit Hahajima, Ogasawara Village, Tokyo, which is said to be the Galapagos of the Orient. "Meguro" is a member of the "Mejiro". Until the 19th century, "Meguro" was the only "Mejiro" in Ogasawara, but the so-called ordinary "Mejiro" brought in by humans at the beginning of the 20th century became wild and is now the dominant species in Ogasawara.
What can we do to protect them?
